Program Overview
Slippery Rock University-College of Education majors have the unique opportunity to complete one month of their student teaching experience in global locations that vary each year. The short-term programs are led by experienced faculty members who are with the students for the duration of the trip. The program is open to all certification areas Pre-k-4 to secondary education, as well as art, music, and physical education majors.
During these experiences, students will live in the community where they co-teach with academic partners and they will have the opportunity to immerse themselves in the culture through excursions that take them throughout the host country. From castles to basilicas to local foods and local history, students who participate in global student teaching walk away from the programs realizing its life altering impact. They also realize that it makes them standout in the job-seeking market place, when interviewing with school administrators.
Please contact Dr. Sara Tours or Dr. Sararose Lynch in Slippery Rock University's College of Education for more information about the application and selection process.
