Program Overview
The evolution of Ceramics and Sculpture in Barcelona span centuries of blending cultural influences, traditions and design innovations from prehistoric production to modern and contemporary art. This city offers a wide range of art and design genres, distinct styles and cultural diversity for art students to experience. While there are many museums and specific sites to explore, art and design is also an integral part of Barcelona which has an active community of artists and designers, street art and public art, and neighborhoods of distinct architectural design. The location, walkable nature and efficient public transportation available ensures that students will also enjoy leisure activities such as local events, markets, restaurants and beaches along with cultural and creative experiences. Barcelona's extensive art and architecture history, diverse influences, and current thriving artistic community makes it a compelling choice for students to experience Ceramics and Sculpture through the lens of Spanish culture. For more information about the program, reach out to the program leaders below or SRU Study Abroad in the Smith Center-Room 247.
