Program Overview


ENGL 389 Stratford Shakespeare offered during Summer Session I 2020 culminates with a trip to Stratford Ontario to see plays by William Shakespeare as well as other playwrights.  In addition to plays, students will tour the Festival Theatre, tour the Archives, speak with performers and tour the largest costume and prop warehouse in North America. The class will depart from Pittsburgh International Airport on Monday June 22nd and return on Friday June 26th. Students enrolled in this program would be responsible for the program cost noted below as well as 3 credits of summer tuition and fees. Costs


A non-refundable application fee of $125.00 will be paid at the time of application. The application fee covers the cost of an international student identity card ($25.00) and $100.00 administrative fee

Estimated Costs: $800.00-1000.00 (exact cost TBA) plus summer tuition & fees (3 credits)
Cost includes:
  • International airfare
  • Most program activities/shows/tours
  • Shared accommodations
  • In-country transportation to and from the Toronto International Airport
  • Basic international travel insurance
** We recommend an estimated $500.00-$600.00 in personal spending money to cover meals beyond breakfasts and incidentals including personal shopping. This estimate is determined by previous student reports of personal spending and may vary by participant.**
